The South Carolina Room

The South Carolina Room houses materials relating to the history of the State of South Carolina with a special focus on Colleton County and its residents, as well as the South Carolina Lowcountry.

The room contains local history reference materials, non-fiction, biographies, historical journals, a Vertical File, local map collection and other materials. Archival materials and special collections are available by request. 


Hundreds of books, magazines, journals and more covering local and state history!

Sunday          Closed

Open by request during the above hours. Check-in at the circulation desk for entry.

SC Room Staff can answer questions regarding the local history & genealogy collections and recommend resources to help you with our research. We cannot conduct research for you, but we will do our best to provide you with the resources to answer your questions.
