We are always grateful for our community expressing their generosity by donating money, time and materials!
Please keep the following in mind:
Materials
We accept donations of new or gently used books, audio books, DVD's, video games, vinyl records, magazines, puzzles, and music CD's. Donations are evaluated and if materials meet the appropriate collection criteria, they will be catalogued into our collection. Any materials that are not added to the collection are given to the Friends of the Library group to be used in their book sale. Our guidelines for donations are as follows:

We only accept 2 boxes per donation. (Due to limited space)

DVD's, CD's, and audiobooks must be in their original case.

We do not accept encyclopedias older than 2 years.

We do not accept materials that are damaged, moldy, stained, or overly marked.

We do not accept textbooks.
Donations of materials and other objects are subject to the same criteria required of purchased materials and objects. Donations that do not meet those criteria shall be accepted with the understanding that they shall be sold, exchanged, given to the public or other organizations, or disposed of in the same manner as items purchased for the library. A receipt for materials donated will be available upon request. However, no monetary value will be placed on the donation by the library.

Money
Monetary donations can only be given in person at one of our locations. We accept cash, checks, and card and a receipt will be given to the donor as requested indicating the amount donated. Donors may choose between giving a general donation or donating to a specific department: Adult, Children, Young Adult, Bookmobile, or the Cottageville Library Branch.
