Writer's & Illustrators Study Group

Second Saturdays of the Month 

May 14, June 11, July 9 and August 13 at 1:00 PM

 

A collaborative group for writers who would like to share their thoughts, stories, poems or projects in progress. Hosted by the Colleton County Memorial Library and developed by local author p.k. potts.

Summer Reading Bingo & Book Club

Tuesday, July 12th from 10:00AM to Noon

 

Who doesn’t love Bingo AND Books? Join the Colleton County Memorial Library for a morning of Bingo, interspersed with short discussions of our favorite summer reads.

 

So bring your favorite summer-related read (something beach or ocean or vacation-themed) and be prepared to battle it out on the Bingo cards for fun summer-themed prizes.

No registration required.

Every Wednesday at 10:00 AM

 

Knitters welcome, crocheters tolerated and beginners encouraged. This lively group gathers every week to knit, chat and have a good time.

The Timecrafters

Every Thursday at 5:30 PM

This group crochets, knits, embroiders, makes rag rugs and laughs... a lot. Primarily yarn crafts but crafters of any medium are welcome to come craft, chat and have fun.

Adult Art Party

Tuesday, June 14th at 6:00 PM

 

Socialize, get paint on your fingers and walk away with your very own work of art.

 

Let local artist Shelby Slaughter of Your Place Art Party guide you through the creation of your very own work of art. 

For our 2022 Summer Reading Art Party we'll be painting an electrifying image of the Cooper River Bridge with lightning striking in the background.

Postcards from Route 15 (Exhibit)

March - May 2022 during regular business hours

 

Stop by the Colleton County Memorial Library to view our exhibit, Postcards from Route 15, showcasing vintage Walterboro postcards and messages from New England travelers headed South to Florida on Route 15 in the mid-20th century. 

This exhibit is free and open to the public during the library’s regular business hours.

Preserving Family Photographs & Papers (Workshop)

Saturday, June 14th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

 

Learn the basics of preserving your family photos and historic documents including organization, storage and digitization. The three-hour workshop is the kick-off to our Adult Summer Reading Program and will be led by Reference Librarian and Genealogist Elizabeth Laney.

 

Each attendee can bring up to five family photos or documents to be digitized during the workshop. Attendance is limited to 20 people. Registration required.

Celebrate SC State Parks (Talk & Trivia)

Thursday, June 30th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

 

Join SC State Park Ranger Terry Conway, as he talks about the scenes, stories and wildlife from his kayak trips along the Edisto River and at Charles Towne Landing SHS.

 

His talk will be followed by a short SC State Parks trivia game with prizes.
