The Making of Young Published Illustrators


This is a program that was started by Children’s Librarian and Author Shiela M. Keaise to showcase the talents of our local children. 
The goal of the IAB program is to provide an inclusive art, literary program that involves the community by requiring support from students, parents, teachers, librarians, artists, school districts, and community leaders. 

The books we publish are mostly written by Miss Shiela to encourage youth illustrators to share their artistic ability and to encourage their peers to read books that interesting and enjoyable.  Since creative, gifted, talented, and bright children frequently experience restlessness, inattention, and day-dreaming, the IAB’s mission is to re-channel their behavior while providing fulfillment and accomplishment.  Learn more about these books below:

9th Illustrate-A-Book (IAB) Project

 

The Cinderella Rap, the ninth IAB Project, is dedicated to cover winner Sierra Britt and to Illustrators Lacey Helton and Ann S. Paul, who both won two pages in the book.

 

Summary of Book:

The traditional story of Cinderella is turned into a rap that journals her life from a pauper to princess.

                             The joys and pains of her story take children, ages 2 – 10, on the popular fairy tale character’s adventure of love, jealousy, and suspense.
